Bizee's Free Agent Period Has an End Date. Find Out Which One.

The Free Period Is Real Value

Bizee, previously known as Incfile, throws agent service into its LLC formation packages at no extra charge, and the included window lands somewhere between one quarter and one full year depending on the tier you buy. If you were forming a Michigan LLC anyway, that is money you genuinely do not spend. No argument from us. We are not a formation company, so there is no bundle on our side of the table to compare it against.

Then a Date Arrives

When the free period ends, standalone agent billing kicks in at $149 a year. Nothing shady about the price. The problem is the handoff: the moment free becomes $149 is a date only one party has any reason to track, and that party is you.

Ask two questions before you buy the package. Which tier did I actually purchase, three months or twelve? And what is the exact calendar date the free coverage stops? If the answer to either one is fuzzy, the $149 will show up as a surprise, and surprises in this category tend to arrive attached to a card you forgot was on file.

Michigan Hands You a Free Look Every February

Here is the checkpoint most owners walk straight past. Every year by February 15 your LLC files an annual statement, Form CSCL/CD-2700, for $25. The form comes back to you with the agent and office details already on your record, asking you to confirm them, and Michigan lets you change the agent right there on the statement instead of submitting anything separate.

So the state gives you one built-in review of your agent arrangement per year, attached to a filing you have to complete regardless. Take it. Pull up the record in February, read whose name is on the agent line, and ask whether you meant to be paying that company $149. Under the Michigan LLC Act skipping the statement two years running costs you good standing, so this is a date you are keeping anyway.

Or, if February is close, make the change on the annual statement you are already filing and skip the separate certificate entirely.

Never cancel first. Bizee holds the seat until the state processes the change, and whichever route you pick, the form has to name the agent taking over, so sign with the replacement before anything gets submitted.
