Free for a Year. Then a Price Nobody Will Show You.
A flat $99 buys one year of resident agent service in Michigan — the registered office, same-day scanning of court papers, and reminders before state deadlines.
This is a sales page and we are not hiding it. Michigan Registered Agent.co wants the $99 a year you might otherwise spend somewhere else. The one thing we will not do on a page about undisclosed pricing is guess at a number, so where Inc Authority is silent, this page says silent and leaves it there.
Year One Really Is Free
Purchase one of their formation packages and the first twelve months of agent coverage are included at zero cost. We went looking for the catches these offers usually carry, a setup fee, a term shorter than advertised, a penalty for leaving early, and none of them are stated. A brand new company gets a service the law requires it to have, for nothing, in the year it can least afford anything. That is a genuine benefit and it deserves to be said before the criticism starts.
Year Two Is Blank
The renewal price is not published. We went looking in July 2026. It is not in the FAQ. It is not on the packages page. It is not on the home page. Judging by how this industry usually behaves, you find out at the order screen or when somebody quotes it to you over the phone.
We could put a plausible number in that space. We are not going to, because the whole point of the page would collapse. And the structural issue does not need a number to be a problem. Your LLC exists because someone filed Articles of Organization under MCL 450.4202, and from that day forward Michigan expects an agent on file, continuously, for as long as the company is alive. The renewal is not an optional extra. It is the running cost of the thing you already built, and you are being asked to commit to it sight unseen.

Michigan Caps What Saying No Costs You
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order HereHere is the practical protection, and it is unusually strong in this state. Whatever that renewal figure turns out to be when it finally appears, moving your agent somewhere else costs $5. Not $50, not a lawyer, not a negotiation. Five dollars and a form.
That changes the shape of the decision. In a state where leaving is expensive, an unquoted renewal is a trap. In Michigan it is an inconvenience, because the exit is priced like a rounding error and you can take it the same week the invoice shows up. Worth knowing before you sign, and worth remembering the day the quote arrives.
We Print Both Years
$99 now, $99 later, and neither figure requires a phone call to obtain. Around the price: same-day scanning of anything served on us, emailed the moment it posts to your portal, our address on the LARA record instead of yours, and a reminder before the February 15 annual statement. Routine mail can be scanned for $15 a piece if you ask, and that single line is the whole of our optional pricing.
Lowest in Michigan? No, and on this page in particular we are not going to fudge it. BetterLegal advertises $90 a year. Our rate sits in the lowest band of flat pricing here, and the argument this page is making has nothing to do with nine dollars. It is that you can read our second year today.
Filing Inc Authority Out of the Michigan Agent Seat
Form CSCL/CD-520 does it. Fill in your entity, the incoming resident agent, and the registered office address, send it to the state agency that holds the file, LARA, with $5, and the record changes. Online or on paper, your choice.
Line up the new agent, file, then close the old account. Something you never paid for feels easy to walk away from, which tempts owners into closing the account and dealing with Michigan later. Do it the other way around. On paper Inc Authority is still your registered agent until the state says otherwise, and the certificate cannot even be completed without a successor named on it. Handled in the right order, your record never has a gap in it. The change of agent walkthrough covers the rest.
Best moment to do this: any business day inside the free year. Early beats late, and it means the unpublished renewal never gets a chance to become your problem.
