The billing structure described below is Swyft's own published one, checked in July 2026. Verify it before you act on anything we say about it.

They Do Publish the Price

Swyft Filings prints its number, which is more than one competitor in this market manages. They are an established filing company, and quarterly billing is a legitimate preference for some owners: four smaller charges can be easier on a young business account than one larger charge every January. If that describes your cash flow, the structure is doing something useful for you and we are not going to sneer at it.

Agent service from Swyft Filings is $149 billed every quarter. Four charges a year works out to about $596, and nothing resembling an introductory discount showed up when we looked.

The number on the page is $149. The number leaving your account across twelve months is close to six hundred dollars. Both are accurate. Only one of them is printed anywhere you are likely to look while deciding, and that asymmetry is the entire reason quarterly pricing exists in a category where almost everyone else quotes a year.

Michigan Does the Opposite of Splitting Things Up

Look at how the state handles the same territory. Changing your resident agent takes one certificate, and it is the same certificate whether you run an LLC or a corporation: no entity-specific versions, no per-type pricing, one sheet and five dollars. The annual statement is one filing a year at $25. Michigan charges you once, prints the figure, and moves on.

When a vendor takes a single annual service and slices it into four invoices, it is worth asking what the slicing accomplishes. It is not making the filing easier. There is only one filing, and nobody performs it four times.

One Charge, $99, and It Repeats Unchanged

We bill once. $99 covers the year, renewal costs $99, and there is no tier above it. Process served on us is in your portal the same business day with an email telling you it arrived. Our Michigan street address sits on the public record instead of your home address. Reminders go out before February 15. One optional item exists: $15 scans a piece of routine business mail, and you are reading that price now rather than meeting it later.

Cheapest in Michigan is not a claim we can make. BetterLegal posts $90 a year, under us. Ours belongs in the lowest band of flat pricing available here, and it states its full yearly cost in the first sentence instead of the fourth invoice.

The document is one sheet, CSCL/CD-520, good for LLCs and corporations both. It asks for your entity name, the resident agent taking over, and the Michigan registered office address that goes on the record from here. Send it to LARA's commercial licensing bureau with $5, electronically or through the mail, and that is the filing. Nothing else has to be amended, and your Articles of Organization stay untouched.

Do it in this order and there is no seam: appoint the new agent, file the certificate, wait for the state record to show the change, then stop the quarterly billing. Swyft remains your agent until LARA posts the update, so cancelling last is what keeps the coverage continuous. Cancelling first just leaves your record pointing at a company you no longer pay.
