Straight up: we sell what ZenBusiness sells. Michigan Registered Agent.co charges $99 a year to sit in your resident agent seat, so read our opinions as a competitor's opinions. Their prices are their own published prices, checked in July 2026, and you can confirm them yourself in about a minute.

Their Software Beats Ours

We do not have a dashboard like theirs and we are not going to pretend otherwise. ZenBusiness gives you one login covering formation records, compliance dates, and agent mail, and it is genuinely well built. If a control panel is the thing you are shopping for, buy theirs. We do one job in one state and the interface is a document portal, not a command center.

Look at the Second Number

Buy it on its own instead of inside a formation package and the ZenBusiness agent product opens at $99 plus state fees, then renews at $199. Both numbers are posted. Neither is hidden. But the $99 is what gets quoted in comparisons, and the $199 is what hits your card in year two, year five, and year eleven.

Your Michigan LLC needs an agent on file the entire time it exists. There is no version of this where you pay the opening rate twice. So the only honest way to compare providers is at the price that repeats, and that price is $199.

Michigan Changed Its Filing System. Your Agent Has to Keep Up.

In June 2025 the state retired its old online filing system and put the MiBusiness Registry portal in its place. Annual statements now go through that portal; paper versions are no longer accepted for them. The old CID and PIN credentials did not transfer, so filers set up a MiLogin for Business account instead.

Bring that up on a pricing page for a reason. State systems change, deadlines stay put, and the value of an agent is measured in whether the person holding your address notices things like this before you do. A vendor whose price steps from $99 to $199 while the service behind it stays exactly the same has not earned the extra hundred dollars for noticing anything.

What $99 Buys, Every Year

One number, no second tier. Anything a process server drops at our Michigan address is scanned and sitting in your inbox that same business day, because your clock starts when the papers change hands and not when you get around to checking mail. Our street address goes on the resident agent line at LARA so yours stays off it. Deadline reminders land before February 15, not after. Renewal is $99, the same as the first invoice.

We will not call ourselves the cheapest in Michigan. BetterLegal advertises $90 a year and that is nine dollars less than we charge. True version: $99 is among the lowest flat yearly prices you can buy in this state, same-day scanning included, with nothing waiting to reprice itself later.

Getting Off ZenBusiness in Michigan

One form, five dollars, done. File form CSCL/CD-520 with the corporations side of LARA and the resident agent on your record changes over. Sign with the new agent before you file, because the form asks who is taking over and ZenBusiness stays responsible until the state posts the update; done in that order your agent line is filled the entire time. Timing tip: do this the month before your ZenBusiness renewal, not the month after. The $199 posts quietly, and once it does you are paying for a year you already decided to leave.
